2. Vedic Science, Maharishi, New Delhi, 1980 – 4.5 hours

3. Vedic Science, Maharishi, New Delhi, 1981 -  4.5 hours

4. Vedic Science, Maharishi, Maastricht, 1991 - 12 hours.

5. Bhagavad Gita, Chapters 7, 8, 9, and 10 - 30 hours.

In the first four sections of this Vedic Science Series, Maharishi unfolds the different aspects of Vedic literature and its relationship to the inner experience provided by Transcendental Meditation and the TM-Sidhi program. Maharishi is accompanied in some videos by Dr. Sudarshan, an eminent and highly respected physicist, and Dr. Geoffrey Clements, Vice-Chancellor of MERU, among other scientists. Vedic literature is the oldest record of human experience and, when properly analyzed, provides a framework for understanding the mechanisms of creation and its relationship to human consciousness.

Maharishi, in the course of these historic lectures, gradually breaks down the different aspects and harmonizes them from a unifying and complementary perspective, when for centuries these different aspects have been scattered and in apparent contradiction with each other.

The importance of sound reverberating in consciousness, generating news of knowledge, as opposed to the intellectual attempt to understand at the level of meaning, takes the lead in this unifying understanding.

From the first text, the Rik Veda, and the other three main Vedas, Sama, Yayur, and Atharva Veda, through the Upangas, Vedangas, Upa-Vedas, and Brahmanas, Maharishi describes the different texts belonging to each of these categories and their specialization, such as Ayurveda for health, Jyotish for predictions, Sthapathya for architecture, the Upanishads, Aranyakas, Brahmana, Itihasa, Puranas, and Smritis, and how they can create an ideal society in the world we live in.

In Part 5, the series considers chapters 7, 8, 9, and 10 of the Bhagavad Gita as commented on by Maharishi and analyzed by Maharaja in recorded tapes. The Bhagavad Gita is the essence and pocketbook of the Veda and expresses the teachings of Lord Krishna to Arjuna through a dialogue between the two, in which Arjuna questions Krishna about the problems he faces in having to fight loved ones and family members in war. Through this dialogue, Krishna leads Arjuna to the state of full enlightenment. Considered one of the major texts of humanity, Maharishi believes that it has been misinterpreted for centuries and attributes the current situation in the world to this misinterpretation. It is recommended that you first read Maharishi's commentary on the Bhagavad Gita, chapters 1 to 6.

Keynote Speaker

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi will always be regarded as the foremost scholar in the field of consciousness and the greatest educator of our time. His Vedic Science and Technology, which unfolds the full potential of Natural Law in human consciousness as the basis for improving all areas of life, are considered the most effective human development programs and the turning point for humanity. His technique of Transcendental Meditation is the most widely practiced and scientifically validated self-development program in the world. Furthermore, his concise exposition of the function of the different aspects of Vedic literature and their integration into a disciplinary body, Vedic Science, constitutes an unparalleled milestone in modern times. Maharishi is credited with the complete intellectual description and understanding of the mechanisms of creation, expressed in his commentary "Apaurusheya Bhashya" on the Rik Veda, and the rediscovery of the 20 samhitas of the Rik Veda lost for millennia, during which time only one samhita of the 21 was available.
